Petra Solar Chief Technology Officer to Present at DistribuTECH Conference

Dr. Johan Enslin, Pr. Eng. joins other industry experts in presenting at this leading annual Smart Grid event

(South Plainfield, NJ – Jan. 28, 2011) Petra Solar, the pioneer and market leader in grid-tied, pole-mounted, distributed solar generation systems which include a Smart Grid backbone for utilities, announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Johan Enslin, Pr. Eng., will be presenting at two sessions of the DistribuTECH conference which takes place in San Diego, CA on February 1-3, 2011.

On Day One of the conference, Dr. Enslin will join utility and grid management experts to discuss the impact that integrating solar-PV has on distribution power quality and protection systems. This panel on "Integrating Intermittency of Renewables into the Smart Grid Framework - A Solar PV Impact Analysis" will be part of the Enterprise Information and Asset Management track and will take place from 3-4:30 pm in Room 3. The following day, Dr. Enslin will discuss a paper he co-authored titled "Application and Economic Analysis of CAES for Thermal Overload Mitigation." This paper demonstrates how Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) can alleviate several grid concerns as well as provide multiple benefits to the system. This discussion, which is part of the conference's Transmission track, will take place from 2:30-4 pm in Room 7A.

Dr. Enslin has combined a 29-year career with leadership activities in industry and in higher education in the United States, Europe and South Africa. He has served as an executive and consultant for private business operations and as a professor in electrical and electronic engineering. He has initiated and managed renewable energy groups and executed multiple projects for U.S. and international customers in system planning, power electronics and renewable energy integration. Throughout his career, he has performed work for more than 80 U.S., European, Asian and African power utilities, governments and industries.

Dr. Enslin will be available along with other top Petra Solar executives in booth #2515 throughout the conference to talk further about the company’s innovative technology.
